Eight ESPN writers and bloggers ranked their top-10 pass rushers in the league. Scores were then tallied to come up with a composite top 10, which was headed by DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews and Dwight Freeney.
Brian Orakpo didn't crack the list. He didn't receive a single vote. The Washington Redskins defensive end took it personally and vowed revenge on the league in 2011:
As our pal Dan Steinberg points out at the DC Sports Bog, Orakpo's 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons are more than two members of ESPN's top-10 list (John Abraham and Julius Peppers). If he didn't get held all the time, that total would be a lot higher. Still, even an Orakpo fan like myself can't argue that he belongs on a list with guys like Ware, Matthews, Freeney and Jared Allen. Yet.
For Orakpo's sake, it's probably best that Roger Goodell is busy trying to kill the league himself or else the commish might have some strong words about that tweet.
