Are you ready for some nuptials? Romo to wed later this month

In between trying to qualify for golf's U.S. Open and not attending Cowboys minicamps, Tony Romo will be getting married later this month in Dallas. The Cowboys quarterback is scheduled to marry Candice Crawford on May 28 at Arlington Hall.

Crawford is a former Miss Missouri and the sister of "Gossip Girl" actor Chance Crawford. She finished in the top 10 in the 2008 Miss USA pageant and was a Dallas-area television reporter when she met the Cowboys QB. Romo proposed in December at her 24th birthday celebration.

TMZ reports that most of Romo's Cowboys teammates will be in attendance, thus leading to the inevitable etiquette question: Does one wear their gigantic No. 88 bling inside a tuxedo jacket or out? It's unknown whether Cowboys coaches will be allowed to go due to NFL lockout rules prohibiting contact between a team's front office and players. Perhaps Roger Goodell can negotiate a settlement in which Jason Garrett will have to sit at a table with all of Romo's second-cousins and Jerry Jones will deliver his gift via courier.

Props for spelling honour with a "u," but what's with the Memorial Day weekend wedding? Come on, Tony. Nobody wants to go to a wedding on a three-day weekend, not even fellow football players who have no jobs to go to on Tuesday. Surely they could have sprung some extra cash for a non-holiday date.

Arlington Hall is one of Dallas' swankiest wedding destinations. It features views of downtown Dallas and can accommodate up to 500 guests. The building is on the grounds of Lee Park, named after Confederate general Robert E. Lee.
