Saturday promised to be a big day in sports, but of the four major events taking place, only two hit home runs.
One unexpected event took place, one that ironically didn't include a home run or any other hit for that matter, as Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander tossed the second no-hitter of the season.
The Kentucky Derby lived up to the excitement, and record crowd, as a 21-1 underdog, Animal Kingdom, charged down the final straightaway to steal the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby.
Oklahoma City and Memphis needed extra time to decide Game 3 of their second-round series, and it didn't end well for the Thunder.
The Boston Celtics had their backs against the wall against the Miami Heat and, like usual, they fought out of it and gave us a better showing than the night's main event.
Manny Pacquiao soundly beat Shane Mosley last night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a fight that didn't showcase either fighter in a great light.
It wasn't Pac-Man's best showing, while Mosley simply looked to survive long enough to go the distance.
Saturday was certainly an eventful day of sports, but unfortunately we didn't get the "perfect game" we were looking for, although Verlander was close.
Sunday gives us two Games 4, including the possible elimination of the Los Angeles Lakers, in the NBA today.
The named events might not carry the weight of Saturday's lineup, but we could see a monumental fall today if the Lakers do indeed lose today.
Here's a look at all that and more for Sunday in the sports world.
