WWE: Why Should Ted DiBiase Go to SmackDown?

When Legacy broke up last April, everyone (myself included) thought that Ted DiBiase Jr. would be the breakout star while Cody Rhodes would be lost in the shuffle.

Boy, were we wrong!

Since moving to SmackDown in the Supplemental Draft (not the TV Draft), Rhodes adopted the "Dashing" gimmick in which he would play to perfection.

He got a lot of heat, winning more matches, as well appearing on SmackDown on a regular basis. Currently, Rhodes is in a feud with Rey Mysterio heading into WrestleMania XXVII.

As for DiBiase, well he, like Randy Orton stayed on RAW. He got a new gimmick, a modern version of his father's rich man gimmick. He also got the Million Dollar Championship as well as buxom blonde Maryse. You would expect the DiBiase-Maryse combination to flourish, right?

Well, not so fast. Since short-lived feuds against John Morrison and R-Truth, DiBiase and Maryse suffered losses against the likes of Daniel Bryan, Eve, Santino Marella, Tamina, Natalya, Evan Bourne, Brodus Clay, Percy Watson, Goldust, Yoshi Tatsu, Mark Henry, and others.

The Million Dollar Couple also failed to get over with the WWE Universe as well (the only exception was when DiBiase butchered the Frank Sinatra classic "My Way" while Maryse danced rather horribly) while Rhodes' heat level began to grow with his anti-dashing promos.

Which reminds me that DiBiase needs a fresh start and in order to get that start, he needs to go to SmackDown. He needs to ditch the "Million Dollar Man Jr." gimmick and become a babyface.

I highly doubt he will be "future endeavored" because of his dad. DiBiase can also feud with Rhodes after Rhodes' feud with Mysterio is over.

Will a change in scenery work out for the "Fortunate Son"? Only time will tell.
