MMA KO of the Day: Kid Yamamoto Takes Flight, Grounds Miyata in 4 Seconds

Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto recorded one of the fastest knockouts in MMA history with his four-second KO of former Olympic wrestler Kazayuki Miyata.

The fight took place May 3, 2006 on the main card of K-1 Hero’s 5. Just seconds after the bell rang, Yamamoto rushed in and connected on a head-cracking flying knee to the face of Miyata, which immediately knocked him out.

Yamamoto had made his Hero’s debut only two years earlier, and this fight really helped his career take off. His current record is 18-4-0 and he fights in the Bantamweight division in the UFC.

Next for Yamamoto is a bout against Chris Cariaso at UFC 130 in May, where Kid will be looking for the first win in his UFC career.
