No. 1 Star: Lubomir Visnovsky, Anaheim Ducks
If the Ducks defenseman is going to make a late push for the Norris Trophy, here's a calling card. Visnovsky scored in the first period against the Dallas Stars at even strength, on the power play in the second, assisted on Teemu Selanne's game-tying goal with 1:03 remaining and then won the game for Anaheim on the power play in overtime, 4-3, completing his hat trick -- the first by a Ducks defenseman in franchise history. Ryan Getzlaf also had three assists.
No. 2 Star: Ilya Kovalchuk, New Jersey Devils
Kovalchuk scored his sixth game-winning goal in the last 12 games, as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1 in overtime. His power-play goal came after a controversial hooking call on defenseman Zbynek Michalek; after a scramble in front of Brent Johnson, the puck came to Kovalchuk, who blasted it home. The Devils have won 19 of their last 23 games. (Slight demerit here for Kovalchuk, whose turnover led to Tyler Kennedy's goal for the Pens.)
No. 3 Star: Miikka Kiprusoff, Calgary Flames
Miikka Kiprusoff made 37 saves and stopped two penalty shots (more on that later) in the Flames' 4-3 victory over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets. He stopped 15 shots in the third period to back-stop the team to victory. Curtis Glencross had a 3-point night, including the eventual game-winning goal. His second-period power play goal was the second the Flames scored with Antoine Vermette in the box for a high-sticking double minor. Olli Jokinen had a goal and an assist.
Honorable mention: Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves as the New York Rangers won at the Ottawa Senators, 4-1. Derek Stepan and Wojtek Wolski had 2-point nights. ... The Chicago Blackhawks got goals from Jonathan Toews, Bryan Bickell, Ryan Johnson, Dave Bolland and Patrick Kane in their 5-2 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes and backup goalie Justin Peters.

Dishonorable mention: The Penguins lost Kris Letang in the first period of their game because he didn't have his jersey tied down in a fight with Travis Zajac. ... Jamie McBain was a minus-3 for Carolina. ... Finally, the Blue Jackets became the first team since the Rangers in 1986 to fail to convert either of two penalty shots in a game. Matt Calvert and Antoine Vermette were stopped by Kiprusoff.
