Video: Junior player Nathan Livingstone’s incredible buzzer-beater goal

We've all seen players "beat the buzzer" on empty net goals, on shots that originate from the other end of the ice. What Central Junior A Hockey League player Nathan Livingstone, 20, did on Tuesday night was extraordinary: Scoring from way on the other side of the red line before the buzzer sounded … at the end of the first period.

That's right: Livingstone beat both the goalie and the clock.

Looking at the time on the clock when he gathered the puck, perhaps its for the best there's no video review. Because this would have been close.

Livingstone's goal cut the deficit for the Smiths Falls Bears to 3-2, but the team ultimately fell to Pembroke, 9-3, in a playoff game. His tally officially came at 19:59 of the first period.

Buzzer beaters: Not just for March Madness anymore!
