Wednesday’s Three Stars: Thomas, Peverley lead Bruins to 4-0 win

No. 1 Star:Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins

Thomas continued to show why he's in contention for the Conn Smythe trophy as he made 37 saves for his third shutout of the playoffs as Boston blanked the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 to even the Stanley Cup Final 2-2. In Boston's two wins, Thomas has had to make 87 saves and he's now 6-0 in the playoffs when stopping 35 or more shots.

No. 2 Star: Rich Peverley, Boston Bruins

With Nathan Horton out of the Bruins lineup for the rest of the playoffs, Peverley was given the opportunity to take his spot on the top line and he rewarded Claude Julien for the confidence. Peverley scored Boston's first and last goals of the night in 14:16 of ice time in the win. After the game, Nathan Horton was in the Boston locker room to award Peverley with the team's honorary jacket given to the game's top player.

No. 3 Star: Zdeno Chara, Boston Bruins

As usual, Chara was a minute-munching monster on the blueline for the Bruins. Assisting on Peverley's first goal, Chara would play 24:44, including 6:10 on the penalty kill and also dished out two hits.

Honorable mention: David Krejci recorded two assists and now leads all players with 22 points. He still is tops with 11 goals ... Despite finishing a minus-two, Max Lapierre won nine out of 12 faceoffs. Vancouver as a team won 39 of 71 draws ... Keith Ballard led all players with six blocked shots ... Boston is now 10-1 when scoring first in the playoffs ... Bobby Orr riled up the crowd pregame by waving the ceremonial Bruins flag, a flag that had Nathan Horton's No. 18 on it:

Did you know? On Cam Neely Night during Game 3 the Bruins scored eight goals. Tonight, on Bobby Orr Night, they scored four.

Dishonorable mention: Both power plays were quiet with the Canucks going 0-for-6 and the Bruins 0-for-4. Vancouver is now 1-for-22 in the series ... Kevin Bieksa was credited with three giveaways ... Roberto Luongo was pulled before the third period and has allowed 12 goals in the last two games ... Henrik Sedin and Ballard had some issues on Boston's third goal:

Conn Smythe Watch: 1. Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins; 2. Henrik Sedin, Vancouver Canucks; 3. David Krejci, Boston Bruins; 4. Ryan Kesler, Vancouver Canucks; 5. Alexandre Burrows, Vancouver Canucks; 6. Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks; 7. Daniel Sedin, Vancouver Canucks; 8. Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins; 9. Michael Ryder, Boston Bruins; 10. Brad Marchand, Boston Bruins.
