2011 NBA Mock Draft: Full Mock, Detroit Pistons Pick Brandon Knight at No. 8

2011 NBA Mock Draft Finds Brandon Knight Heading To The Detroit Pistons at Pick No. 8

Brandon Knight led the Kentucky Wildcats to a magical run that ended all the way in the Final Four, but that doesn't mean he is going to be a surefire, can't miss point guard in the NBA.

His jumper is extremely inconsistent and he is far to reliant on one-hand according to ESPN draft expert Fran Fraschilla:

Knight's overall skill level is good. While he made 38 percent of his 3s, that won't necessarily translate to the NBA line unless the 19-year-old gets stronger. He is a good passer, but he plays with tunnel vision, at times, for a point guard. He is intelligent enough, I believe, to get his bigger, better scoring teammates involved in the offense. Ultimately, he is a work in progress.

It's not like this issue can't be addressed with proper coaching, but it's certainly something to factor in when drafting Knight.

At 6-3 and 185 pounds, he is a bigger option than Kemba Walker?his main competitor for the right to be drafted as the second point guard after Kyrie Irving.

Did NBA Pre-Draft Camp Raise or Lower Stock?

Lower

Numerous reports say that Kemba Walker's charismatic personality really shinned this past weekend in on-on-one interviews while Knight left a lot to be desired.

Certainly the two-year age difference has something to do with it, but by sitting out during the pre-draft camp, he left scouts with a lot more questions than answers.
