The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't be the subject of HBO's "Hard Knocks," depriving premium cable subscribers the chance to learn Raheem Morris' go-to curse words and to become riveted by, and then immediately forget about, the team's battle for the fifth receiver roster spot.
The team said via its Twitter account that the show is wonderful but that they have bigger goals for the season.

In announcing the decision, the Bucs said in a statement they want to�"keep the focus on the field and what we hope to accomplish in 2011."
That is, perhaps, a suggestion the show could be a distraction. Another concern for the Bucs: growing off-the-field issues, including several recent arrests.
Those issues are highlighted by the pending investigation of cornerback Aqib Talib on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, relating to a shooting incident in Dallas and a case that could be playing out right about the time the show gets under way in August.
The Bucs told the NFL they would consider doing the show at another time�if approached again.
If Raheem Morris and the Bucs front office think "Hard Knocks" is going to be a distraction then they're right to decline. The presence of the cameras doesn't inherently interfere with training camp, but they serve little benefit if you're not Rex Ryan. Why run the risk of allowing them in the first place?
Of course, at this rate there won't be any training camp to film and HBO would have been stuck filming hours of Stylez White writing "Teen Wolf" fan fiction.
