Barcelona Transfer News: Barca on the Verge of Parting with Top Young Striker

For most of the summer transfer window, Bojan Krkic's exit has seemed like a mere formality.

The young striker has been linked to a move to Roma, and even though the Barca prospect isn't too keen on a move to Italy, a move is imminent, and according to his father, it will happen sooner, rather than later.

Per Goal.com:

Speaking to Radio Radio, Bojan Krkic senior said: "He will come next week and he may be presented with [club owner] Thomas DiBenedetto.

"Krkic has already put a picture of the Curva Sud [Roma fans' turnstile at the Olympic stadium] on his mobile phone."

On Thursday, the 20-year-old revealed his exit from the Camp Nou appeared imminent.

The good news for Krkic is that Barcelona will get a buy-back clause in the deal that will send the striker to Roma.

While there may be mixed motions about this move, the Spanish side will eventually bring him back to the Nou Camp.

This move doesn't have anything to do with Krkic's skill as a player, and everything to do with finances and player development.

Barcelona is looking to bring in some big money signings in the summer transfer window, and to finance those moves, you have to loan out some players.

Krkic is the type of young player that would draw a lot of attention from clubs, and selling him will allow him to grow into one of the best players in the world.

Not only will it improve Krkic's game, but it is one of those moves that will benefit everyone in the long run.

The striker will see first-team football in one of the top leagues in the world, Roma will have a talented young prospect on the roster, adding energy to the club, and Barcelona will get a fee and the right to get him back when they're ready.

Krkic may have mixed emotions about leaving the Nou Camp, but he has to realize that this is what's best for him and the club at this moment.

Barcelona didn't have room for him on the first team, and it would have been detrimental to Krkic's career if he hung around the Spanish club with no real chance of advancement.

At Roma, he will get the playing time and challenges that he needs to become one of the sport's best players.
