Deion Sanders' massive Texas home has been on the market for over two years. It's doubtful you'll be surprised to read that the guy who refers to himself as "Prime Time" has been greatly overvaluing the property.
The 29,122-square-foot home belonging to the soon-to-be Hall of Famer has been listed at $21 million since going on the market in 2009. It hasn't budged from that asking price since, despite the fact that an appraisal of the property says it's worth $5.6 million, one-quarter that price.
The house sits on 109 acres, features a football field, an indoor basketball court, a bowling alley, 13 bathrooms, a 12-acre lake, nine covered parking spaces, five fireplaces, three dining rooms, two indoor pools and a partridge in a pear tree. Presumably the words "Prime Time" are etched on glass somewhere inside the house, but that's not written in the official listing.
Another Sanders property is also on the market. That Dallas penthouse is a relative bargain at $7 million.
Deion has been hit or miss in offering his talents for high prices in the past. In 2000, he managed to finagle a $56 million contract with the Washington Redskins and then stayed with the team for only one season. Things didn't work out so well at CBS when Deion left the network's pregame show after two years in a contract dispute.
Time will tell whether he finds a taker for his house. At this rate and in this housing market, I'd say it's unlikely, unless Dan Snyder is looking for property in Texas.
