We were going to count the blows in this fight between Jay Rosehill of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Francis Lessard of the Ottawa Senators. We got up to about seven, and then decided to round up to "a lot."
When Lessard was called up this week for Round 5 of the Battle of Ontario this season, the hope was that it would also be another round in this pugilistic rivalry between the two heavyweights, who have squared off numerous times in the AHL and this tilt (a bit of a dud) from the 2010-11 preseason.
They didn't disappoint.
