Puck Headlines: King Henrik meets Bieber; Ray Emery to the Ducks?

Here are your Puck Headlines: a glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• As we tweeted Wednesday night, New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist hung out with hockey legend Justin Bieber at Wednesday night's Knicks game. Things were going fine until Sean Avery stopped by and began hitting on Bieber, mistaking him for a waif he met at Fashion Week. [Getty and Jezebel, via Mark M.'s girlfriend]

• It's Tim Gleason Revenge Night for the Toronto Maple Leafs ... if only the Leafs were actually looking for revenge for his one-punch KO of Nikolai Kulemin. Said Ron Wilson, who has coached them both: "We're not looking for retribution in any sense like that. He called and left a voicemail with Kulie, which I think is classy. Retribution for us is to beat them, get the two points. That's what's most important here." We'll see. [Globe & Mail]

• Said Jay Rosehill: "It's fresh in our minds, and we did not like it. But we're not going to make a point to go out of our way to do something stupid that is going to put the team down. But if you get a chance to rub him out, guys are going to take that chance all night." [Toronto Sun]

• Darren Dreger of TSN reports that the Anaheim Ducks and Philadelphia Flyers are in the mix as two of the three teams after goalie Ray Emery. [TSN]

• Mark Whicker of the OC Register: "The Ray Emery rumors make sense for the Ducks only because Jonas Hiller has played more minutes than anyone in the West and that Emery can get very hot. He was the losing goalie in the '07 Finals for Ottawa against the Ducks." [Ducks Blog]

Pittsburgh Penguins injury update: Standout rookie Mark Letestu is out four to six weeks with knee surgery. But Evgeni Malkin is back on Friday. [Empty Netters]

• Adam Proteau on new Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula: "If he's serious about succeeding in the NHL, Pegula cannot be bound by the Sabres' small-market status. He has to work with the league, its revenue-sharing program and, ultimately, his own ego to bankroll the organization the way the best of them do, not just on the ice, but off of it as well." [THN]

• Great piece by Elliotte Friedman on the scouting cutbacks for the Sabres under Tom Golisano. [CBC Sports]

• Watch the Golisano press conference here, in which he somehow believes the Buffalo Sabres invented the Winter Classic (which isn't true ... at all). John Vogl on his departure: "Golisano is selling the team for $189 million, including $14 million in debt, after purchasing it for $92 million, including $30 million in excused debt. It's a healthy payday for a billionaire who embraced hockey long enough to keep it in town but quickly returned to what he does best: run a business." [Sabres Edge]

Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Mike Smith is sent down to Norfolk, where Dan Ellis feels he'll be better able to handle cost-of-living expenses. [Raw Charge]

St. Louis Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo is back in practice, having been out with an eye injury since Jan. 18. [Blues]

Andrew Raycroft's return to Boston as a goalie playing well makes for an interesting storyline. He's 3-4-0 lifetime against the Bruins with a 3.06 GAA. [Dallas Stars Blog]

Marc Savard, headed to the head doctor for the Boston Bruins. [Bruins Blog]

• Four teams that will be selling at the deadline. Coincidentally, they're the four teams least likely to make the playoffs. [Slam]

• Is there anyone who wants to see Peter Forsberg come back other than Peter Forsberg and the Colorado Avalanche's accountants? [Puck Update]

• Seriously, anyone? [Slam]

• What an amazing turnaround for the Minnesota Wild: From a desperation bag skate earlier this season to their GM Chuck Fletcher saying that they plan on standing pat (for now) with the team they have: "We haven't had conversations about moving our pending UFAs to other teams. The focus right now is 'What can we do to make the playoffs?' We'll look to do anything that makes sense without mortgaging the future. That means keeping this group together so long as we can continue to play the way we're playing." [Star Tribune]

• Head on over to In Goal Magazine to check out the awesome that is Brandon Maxwell's mask for the Kitchener Rangers that features bloody Patrick Roy and Ron Hextall after their fights. [IN GOAL]

• Why "the Ontario Hockey League's answer to Vernon Wells" shouldn't get booed this weekend. [Buzzing The Net]

• Why Phil Kessel being selected last in the NHL All-Star Draft was an abomination: "Now Look What You've Gone And Done, Stallidstrom: Solely because his feelings were hurt, Kessel went out and did not register a single point in a game that featured 21 goals. For shame, All Star captains. For shame." [Pegasus News]

• The Los Angeles Kings second line is better than their first these days. [Pro Sports Blogging]

• "Chris Drury sees strength in Rangers' fourth line." Which is to say that Chris Drury is a fourth-liner. [Blueshirts Blog]

• Changes are a-commin' for the Atlanta Thrashers, or GM Rick Dudley's putting that out there to light a fire under the team? [AJC]

• Finally, the Top 10 Stick Saves This Season (So Far). [HOTH]
