Video: Harrison shares bitterness with reporter, calls out Goodell

Kara Henderson began her live media day interview with James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers by expressing her nervousness about stepping onto the menacing linebacker's podium. Her worries were well-founded.

Harrison delivered short and snappy answers to the NFL Network reporter's questions about his hard hits and the $100,000 in fines they've brought upon him this season. In doing so, he also took a subtle swipe at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the league's recent crackdown on illegal tackling.

The video begins with Henderson's apprehensive introduction and picks up around the minute mark:

Before you jump on Harrison, I think it's pretty clear he was kidding and wasn't actually angry at Henderson (who does a fine job of brushing past the brusqueness and plowing onward). He smiles after she ends the interview, seemingly content with the message he delivered. Henderson was the intermediary.

At some other point during the hour-long media session, Harrison took direct jabs at Goodell.

"I don't want to hurt nobody. I don't want to step on nobody's foot or hurt their toe. I don't want to have no dirt or none of this rubber on this field fly into their eye and make their eye hurt. I just want to tackle them softly on the ground and if you all can, we'll lay a pillow down where I'm going to tackle them, so they don't hit the ground too hard ... Mr. Goodell."

I'd love to see Goodell try to fine Harrison for those comments. It'd be awfully hypocritical of the commissioner to do so considering he was quoted this week telling tales about Ben Roethlisberger
