Cotton Bowl 2011, pitting LSU against Texas A&M, will be one of the most exciting BCS bowls this season, although it will be difficult to top the Rose Bowl, in which TCU beat Wisconsin on a failed two-point conversion attempt.
LSU will be coming in as the favored team, having an impressive 10-2 record while narrowly missing the SEC Championship game. Les Miles has his team ranked 11th in the country, and the Tigers' high-powered defense seems to match up well against Texas A&M's average offense.
Expect this one to be somewhat low-scoring, with both teams starting slow and coming on late.
For the Aggies (9-3), they will enter the contest tied for the best conference record in the Big 12, and owners of a six-game winning streak.
Had it not been for losses to Oklahoma State and Arkansas by a combined 10 points, the Aggies would have participated in a BCS Bowl arguably ranked in the Top 5. Texas A&M features a pass-heavy attack, and that may help them.
Ultimately, it seems LSU's defense is just too strong, surrendering only 17 points per game against a torrid SEC schedule. This game will be close, but it may end up being a solid audition for Les Miles and the Michigan head coaching job.
