Brett Favre's sister arrested in a Mississippi meth lab

Things are still breaking bad for Brett Favre. His younger sister Brandi was arrested Wednesday in a condo complex that also served as a meth lab.

Sgt. Abe Long of Hancock County told SunHerald.com that Brandi Favre was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and generating hazardous waste. Both charges are felonies. She was among five people arrested.

Undercover agents bought methamphetamine from two of the suspects, which led to the raid at the condo. Agents found meth cooking in the bathtub, made the arrests, then took the suspects to the "Hancock County Barn" for decontamination. They are now behind bars.

That's not good news for anybody, of course, but Brett Favre really didn't need any more bad news. The man had a disastrous 2010, and now his family is cooking up an equally horrific 2011.

In the past year, Favre's Vikings performed woefully below expectations and finished the season 6-10. Favre's consecutive games streak was snapped after he suffered a shoulder injury, which was then followed quickly by a nasty concussion. Favre was also accused of sending lewd voicemails and pictures of his genitals to a Jets employee during his time as a Jet, and was fined $50,000 by the NFL for not cooperating with the league's investigation.

Obviously, a family tragedy trumps all that. And just to be clear, this is no reflection on Favre whatsoever. A lot of people out there know what it's like to have a family member who can't or won't be helped.

Best of luck to members of the Favre family. I hope something goes right for them soon.
