Tuesday's Three Stars: Pens, Bolts shutouts; Perry boarding debate

No. 1 Star: Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins

No Sidney Crosby and no Evgeni Malkin, but another Penguin voted into the NHL All-Star Game came through when they needed him. Fleury stopped 29 shots and Craig Adams had the lone goal in the Pens' 1-0 win against the New York Islanders. It was Fleury's second whitewash of the season.

No. 2 Star: Taylor Hall, Edmonton Oilers

The rookie tied the game with the Phoenix Coyotes with a power-play goal in the third period -- the Oilers' second in their last 54 chances. Later, after the teams traded goals, Hall's pass set up Dustin Penner in the slot for the game-winner with 22 seconds left in regulation. Edmonton topped the Coyotes, 4-3, to end a 5-game losing streak. The game-winner:

No. 3 Star: Dwayne Roloson, Tampa Bay Lightning

The Bolts keeper made 26 saves for his third shutout in 10 games, as the Lightning blanked the Toronto Maple Leafs., 2-0. Simon Gagne and Teddy Purcell scored during a 17-shot barrage in the first period against the Leafs, who have lost three in a row.

Honorable mention: Mike Weaver's second of the season (41 games apart) at 11:41 of the third period gave the Florida Panthers and Tomas Vokoun (32 saves) a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers. Rostislav Olesz had a goal and an assist; Keaton Ellerby scored his first NHL goal for the Panthers. ... Chris Pronger had four assists while Danny Briere scored his 26th and  Jeff Carter scored his 23rd of the season, as the Philadelphia Flyers rolled the Montreal Canadiens, 5-2, in Philly. Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves. ... Niklas Backstrom made 31 saves while Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Chuck Kobasew had a goal and an assist in the Minnesota Wild's 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Sharp had his 26th goal in defeat. ...  More Jonas Hiller magic: His 35 saves and Teemu Selanne's goal and an assist led Anaheim to a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Jason Blake had the game-winner in the third. ... Finally, check out the Paul Coffey act from Shaonne Morrison last night for the Buffalo Sabres in overtime, rushing to the net and surprising the Ottawa Senators with the game-winner, his first goal as a Sabre and in 60 games. Buffalo won, 3-2, as Paul Byron had his first NHL goal.

Dishonorable mention: A couple of refereeing blunders around the crease. In Ottawa, Nick Foligno collided with Ryan Miller as Sergei Gonchar scored on the power play. Said Miller: "They said the puck was in before I was interfered with. ... I obviously strongly disagree with that version of what happened on the ice, and I let them know that." ... In Chicago, Jonathan Toews had a goal kept off the board in the third period after the officials ruled the play was whistled dead. ... Brent Seabrook was a minus-3 for Chicago. ... Anaheim scored two power play goals early on a Derek Dorsett boarding call on Corey Perry (no video of the hit yet). Said Dorsett after the game to Puck-Rakers:

"Perry's a 215-, 220-pound guy. He plays a physical game, a power-forward game," Dorsett said. "I think he went down pretty easy. Maybe I should have let up. I haven't seen the replay. Perry went down the tunnel for 20-30 seconds, and he was back on the power play. He played about a minute and a half on that power play, so how hurt was he?"

Said Perry, on a potential suspension for Dorsett: "I didn't turn or anything. ... I had no idea he was coming. We'll see what happens."
