FanHouse's first year of full-time soccer coverage began with a snowy tour of the New York Red Bulls' amazing new stadium in Harrison, NJ and ended amid awkward celebration at Al Jazeera's bureau in Washington, DC.In between, we covered an MLS season that concluded with a hard-fought championship victory for the Colorado Rapids and a World Cup in South Africa highlighted by a wild ride for the U.S. national team and long-awaited glory for Spain (yes, we're in the photo above).
From the Philadelphia Union's debut to the pre-World Cup training camp in Princeton, we were there. And we took copious notes. Now that 2010 is drawing to a close, FanHouse has compiled some of the best quotes from the year that was.
This list is personal, however -- every comment on here comes from an interview or press conference that we conducted or attended. In most cases, we've linked to the story as well if you're interested in further reading.
