No. 1 Star: John Tavares, New York Islanders
The Isles second year man notched his second career hat trick scoring three times as part of a four-goal second period as New York beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2. Matt Moulson assisted on each of Tavares' natural hat trick goals and Rick DiPietro made 40 saves for his fourth win in a row.
No. 2 Star: Drew Miller, Detroit Red Wings
In the second game of a home-and-home series with Columbus, the Red Wings again found themselves down 2-0 in the first period, but tonight fought their way back to a 6-5 overtime win. Miller scored and setup two other Detroit goals and finished a plus-4 on the night. Joey MacDonald made 25 saves for his first win since Dec. 3rd, 2009 and Johan Franzen was the hero with this overtime snipe:
No. 3 Star: Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes
Down 3-2 early in the second period, Staal helped started the Hurricanes' comeback setting up Jamie McBain's goal as Carolina scored three times in a 6:32 span to take a two-goal lead. The Carolina captain capped off the three-goal second period with a shorthanded goal that would eventually stand as the game-winning goal as the Hurricanes beat Tampa Bay 6-4. Jussi Jokinen (three points) and Jeff Skinner (two points) each extended their point streaks to five games.
Honorable mention: Montreal's three-goal first period was enough to hold off the New York Rangers 3-2. The Canadiens were 2-for-4 on the power play and Carey Price made 31 saves for his 22nd win of the year. Tempers boiled over late in the second period when Henrik Lundqvist took exception to being run into:
Mikhail Grabovski's goal with 12.4 seconds remaining forced overtime, Olli Jokinen's goal in the fourth round of the shootout gave Calgary a 2-1 win over Toronto ... Dmitry Kulikov was the overtime hero as Florida edged New Jersey 3-2. Scott Clemmensen made 33 saves to improve to 3-0-0 lifetime against his former team ... Jordan Staal's goal early in the third period broke a 2-2 deadlock and gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 44 shots to record his 20th win ... Marcel Goc scored the shootout winner and Pekka Rinne made 31 saves as Nashville beat Chicago 3-2. Rinne made this game-saving stop late in overtime on Patrick Sharp:
Trevor Daley scored twice on the power play for his first multi-goal game of his career and James Neal also tallied two as Dallas routed Atlanta 6-1. Kari Lehtonen made 29 saves for his first win against his former mates. The Stars have now won seven straight road games and improved to 11-1-1 against the Thrashers ... Ray Whitney scored twice and assisted on another to supass the 900-point mark in his career as Phoenix beat Anaheim 6-2. Lee Stempniak added three points and Ilya Bryzgalov made 26 saves as the Coyotes won their fourth straight and improved to 6-0-1 in their last seven. Radim Vrbata added two assists to reach 300 points for his career ... On the night they honored Rogie Vachon as part of their "Legends Series", the Kings ended their eight-game homestand with a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Jonathan Bernier made 24 saves and Jarret Stoll scored twice to give him five goals in five games ... San Jose broke a six-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Dany Heatley scored for the first time in seven game with two power play tallies and Joe Thornton passed Patrick Marleau for the all-time assists lead in Sharks' history with two helpers along with a goal. A night of breaking streaks for the Sharks also included Antti Niemi ending a four-game losing streak with 28 saves.

Dishonorable mention: Ondrej Pavelec's six goal allowed sent him to his fourth straight defeat, in which he's allowed 19 goals in that time ... Finally, awesome, awesome hit by Drew Doughty on Taylor Hall tonight, but do we need scrums after every single good, clean bodycheck?
