If there's one thing we know about Tony Romo, it's that the Dallas Cowboys' starting quarterback isn't about to let a little thing like a trip to the injured reserve list stop his quest for interesting activities - in fact, having his season end early just gave him more time to up and get himself engaged.
And to whom will the delightful Mr. Romo be betrothed? We now know a bit more about Candice Crawford, the 24-year-old former Miss Missouri (here's a slideshow). She currently works at Dallas-Fort Worth television station KDAF (soon after the engagement was announced, the station ran a shot of the engagement ring, which reportedly cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $80,000), and Romo popped the question when he was helping Ms. Crawford and her family celebrate her birthday at an upscale restaurant (Wolfgang Puck's Five Sixty).
The 30-year-old Romo started dating Crawford (who, if you're interested, is the sister of Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford) in September of 2009, soon after he dumped Jessica Simpson. And there's a bit of cross-history with the Crawfords - according to People Magazine, country singer Carrie Underwood, who also dated Romo and bears more than a passing resemblance to Ms. Crawford, dated the Gossip Girl star after the Underwood-Romo pairing went south. Ms. Crawford also has a friendship with Kim Kardashian (seen below, talking with Ms. Crawford at the Cowboys' 2010 training camp), who has been known to date the occasional NFL star.
It's all very convoluted (perhaps a Pete Frame-style family tree could help), but we wish the soon-to-be newlyweds all the best.
